The month of October Sun Valley Community update

The Sun Valley General Improvement District meets the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of every month at 6:00 PM. 5000 Sun Valley Blvd.

The Sun Valley Landowners and Residents Association meets the 1st and 3rd Thursday at 6:00 PM of every month. 5360 Sun Valley Blvd. The Sun Valley Landowners building was constructed in 1944 on land given by the Gepford Family. From 1975 until 2005, Washoe County leased the building to house the Sun Valley Senior Center. The building continues to be run by a board which oversees the Food Pantry. The Association holds events such as bingo and has the hall available for party rentals and flea markets. If you would like to become a member call Margaret at 674-6446

Washoe County’s Sun Valley Senior Center is still open and available for seniors to come and gather and meet with other seniors. The hours of operation are from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm daily, Monday - Friday. The Sun Valley Senior Center is located at 5295 Sun Valley Blvd. For more information, please call 673-9471

PLAY BINGO

Bingo Games are held at the Sun Valley Landowners/Residents Association at 5360 Sun Valley Blvd. Games are held from 7pm to 9pm on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of every month. Cash Jackpot Blackout Game on the final play.

Three cards for $6.00 and $1.00 for each additional. Pick your own prize. Come Join the fun.

FOOD RESOURCES

The Food Bank of Northern Nevada and the Hope Nazarene Church are offering a mobile food pantry every Monday at 2:30 p.m. The church is located at 205 W. Gepford Parkway (Gepfod & Slope). For low income families with children under age six or low income seniors.

MEALS ON WHEELS Adults over 60 yrs. That are homebound may qualify for the Meals on Wheels home delivery program. Or more information call 328-2590

The NNFB also offers a Kids Café (Dinner Program) for all children under the age of 18-years, Monday – Friday from 5:00 to 5:30 pm at Lois Allen Elementary School. The kids do not need to be enrolled at Lois Allen Elementary School. The kids will receive a nutritious meal at no charge.
